Many people also purchase diving or travel insurance as well, because their regular insurance won’t cover it. What father show that travel insurance relates to international health insurance is that both policies provide basic health insurance or medical insurance for individual families against medical emergency at any where you might be either inside or outside the country. If you are a frequent traveller, then travel rewards credit cards can be your best friend because they offer features like hotel discounts and travel insurance.

Extra insurance cover it’s highly unlikely your travel insurance policy extends to laptop computers. It is always very important to ensure you have travel insurance every time you travel. Many people only think of small things that don’t really matters a lot like, loss of money or having their luggage stolen, forgetting the fact that other factors such as illness and accident are the factor which can also be covered by travel insurance.

When I bought my first plane ticket to China a few years ago it cost around $2000 round-trip, and my travel insurance cost me over $500 because I didn’t shop around for cheap travel insurance online. Months later, I had our local travel insurance representative come visit my office, and he told me this story, and the unfortunate result was her young boy had come down with an ear infection prior to their flight to Jamaica, and even though she was consulted by the boys doctor not to take the flight until his condition healed, she ignored the requests. How is travel insurance related to international health insurance.

Again, you will find some excellent deals when you book your accommodation online, and you can also look forward to some great deals on other extras, such as travel insurance cover and car hire. For example, if you a business executive who travel frequently around the country or internationally, you probably want to have a credit card that allow you to enjoy saving from hotel stays, free air tickets, free travel insurance and others travel related benefits. The good news is that you can easily, conveniently and quickly research and locate excellent but cheap online travel insurance and reduce the costs while making an informed purchase.

Take a copy document with you Most good policy travel insurance documents will confirm the claim procedures to follow in the event of theft or loss, what you are covered for and most importantly who to call in an emergency. If the costs of treatment are higher than the maximums of your medical plan, you will be responsible for the difference, unless you have already purchased travel insurance. As a ‘travel professional’ offering travel insurance, as well as many of the online travel companies that sell travel protection to their clients, want you to know that our sincere and true intentions are to make sure that each and every one of you are covered and have the peace-of-mind.

Additional Benefits Business credit cards, like regular credit cards, can have a number of additional benefits associated with them, such as travel insurance, extended warranties, and purchase protection. Both companies now offer nearly identical benefits, such as travel insurance, car rental insurance, product warranty extensions, and so on. These points can then be used to claim discounts on food, wine and travel; travel insurance; clothing; high street discount vouchers; or exchanged for cash.

They also habitually try to sell you other travel components such as hotel accommodation, car rentals, attraction tickets and/or travel insurance. There’s also travel insurance that would include worldwide emergencies like medical evacuation, lost luggage, and emergency expatriation.

Getting the right travel insurance for your Easter break

So far, the first few months of 2009 have thrown households across the UK some tough challenges. In addition to the usual post-Christmas comedown, people have been plagued by extreme winter weather conditions and an almost constant flow of gloomy news about the state of the world economy. As a result, the advent of the long Easter Weekend in mid-April is sure to have many families champing at the bit for a short break away from the drone of everyday life.

And no matter what the state of your finances, you’re sure to be able to find an affordable break if you search in the right places. For instance, if money is short, an excursion to a local beauty spot or a visit to see friends on the other side of the country is sure to be an attractive – and relatively inexpensive – option. At the same time, if you’re tempted to go abroad, many travel agents and budget airlines are offering great deals on flights and accommodation in Europe, so you could bag a short break abroad for less than you might think. But wherever you’re going, there’s one thing you can’t do without: travel insurance.

Don’t underestimate the importance of travel insurance

Travel insurance might seem like an extra cost you can forgo, especially at times when money is tight. But the benefits offered by travel cover almost always outweigh its relative costs – especially on a short weekend break. For instance, if you’re travelling from London to Manchester for a short break over the Easter Weekend, obtaining travel insurance for your trip might not at first seem like a necessity. However, travel insurance for UK breaks often works in much the same way as overseas holidays – so if you should lose your personal possessions or suffer a theft, your loss will be covered. What’s more, if your flight or train back from Manchester is delayed or cancelled – which, let’s face it, is a very real possibility in Britain – your travel cover could pay out for the time you’ve lost.

On the other hand, families, groups and couples taking short breaks overseas over the Easter Weekend may remember to take out travel insurance before embarking on their trip, but they could also opt for the very cheapest option in order to save money. While a low level of coverage is better than no travel insurance at all, it’s crucial to ensure that you opt for the policy that meets your personal needs. For instance, a European travel insurance policy may cover you in the event that your flight is delayed or if you have to unexpectedly cancel your trip – but does it offer you protection if the airline with which you’re flying goes into liquidation? In today’s economic climate, there’s a high chance that this may happen, and though a travel insurance policy that does cover such an outcome may cost more, the fact that it will cover the cost of your alternative travel arrangements certainly makes it worthwhile.

Ensuring that you make the most of your money when buying travel cover

With a little help from travel insurance experts and insurance comparison sites, you’ll be able to find travel insurance with levels of cover that suit both you and your bank balance. Moreover, today’s technological advances mean that it’s easy to buy travel insurance direct from websites in just a few clicks – so you’ll have no excuse to delay buying travel cover before the Easter break.

Both Travel Insured and Travelex Insurance companies offer a chance for travelers to get rates on travel insurance right online. You can pick your travel insurance package when it comes to both of these companies and cover yourself from loss when you are traveling. Planning a trip can be very expensive and most of the time, you have to pay for the trip up front. If something occurs, such as a storm or a hurricane, you will then be stuck with the bill but no trip. Both Travel Insured and Travelex Insurance help prevent this from happening.

Traveling to the Caribbean during Hurricane Season?

You can apply for Travel Insured travel insurance right online and get a quote. You can do the same for Travelex Insurance. The quote that you get will depend on where you are going, when you are going and the amount of money that the trip is costing you. Travelex Insurance will not provide a quote for island or cruise travel in the Caribbean during hurricane season. Travel Insured will provide a quote, but it is high. A traveler would have to wonder if it is worth it to insure the trip for an amount that rivals the cost of the trip.

Making the Right Choices for Travel Insurance

Applying for both Travel Insured travel insurance as well as Travelex Insurance is easy. You just have to fill out an online form and send in information regarding your travel itinerary. Once you have done this, you will get a quote on how much travel insurance will cost you. You can choose from several different travel insurance packages. There are those that insure you when it comes to medical coverage and accidents as well as those that will insure against lost bags, water damage or damage to your property when you are traveling.

You can get travel insurance from both Travelex Insurance and Travel Insured for a trip cancellation as well. This will give you a chance to recoup most of your losses if a trip is cancelled.

No travel insurance company will give you money for pain and suffering if your trip is cancelled. In other words, if you have plans for a honeymoon and have travel insurance and a freak storm wipes out the hotel before the honeymoon date, you cannot file a claim on the fact that this ruined your honeymoon and caused you pain and suffering. You can only get the money that you put down for the hotel reservations back to you.

Travel insurance is used when you pre-pay for a trip or a cruise and want to be sure that you do not lose money on the trip in case it is cancelled or if you have to cancel due to illness. Both Travel Insured and Travelex Insurance will cover you in these instances and charge you a low premium, based upon the risk that they are taking. When it comes to filing a claim, you can get the same service from Travelex Insurance as you can get from Travel Insured. You will have to provide them proof that you suffered a loss, send them a receipt of the loss and then collect the proceeds when they pay out.

A person who is travelling is always apprehensive and insecure. Primarily, the reason is that being in a foreign land and away from the secure environs of his home and the familiarity of his city, any person is bound to feel uneasy and perplexed. Add to that any untoward incident, like an accident or a health problem, and the picture of the uncomfortable and hassled traveller is complete. But, with the help of a travel insurance policy, the tourist/traveller can alter this unpleasant picture into a pleasant one.

Travel insurance not only makes life easier for a person who is travelling to a foreign land, but also provides a sense of security and the assurance of handling any unwarranted happening with ease. Whether the person is travelling alone or in a group, or whether he is on a family vacation or an official trip, an insurance policy that covers all the facets of travelling is the best way to deal with the uncertainties involved.

These days, travel insurance policies cover a spectrum of areas – from the booking and cancellation of tickets to arranging the accommodation in the new place. Besides, it also covers things like sickness and other medical complications and loss or theft of possessions.

Travel policies are also of various types. They can either be a single trip policy or an annual one. It is advisable for people who have to travel extensively to take up an annual travel insurance policy; and for people who travel once in a while, a single trip policy is the perfect option.

There is also a primary and secondary travel insurance policy that is available in the market. Primary insurance would mean that the travel insurance company will be the first one to pay, and secondary policy means that they are either the second or the last to pay after the insured has claimed from other insurances under which he is covered.

A travel insurance cover is the best way to guarantee a smooth and comfortable stay abroad, whether it is for pleasure or work.

When purchasing a travel insurance policy you will need to consider the type of policy to buy.

There a basically only two types of travel insurance, the first is a policy that only covers one specified journey, known as a single trip policy, and the other will cover all journeys made within a specified 12 month period, known as an annual multi-trip policy.

There will, however, be a requirement to meet with respect to length of residence and registration with a local GP in order to qualify for cover under either policy. I don’t know of any full travel insurance policy available to a UK resident that doesn’t require you to be registered with a local GP, although there are some limited policies, limited both in the amount of cover and the scope of the policy that can be bought without having being registered with a local GP. The length of residency criteria can vary from no restriction, through 6 of the last 12 months, to the strictest of them being the last 6 months continuous residence prior to purchase, although short holidays are permitted to have been taken during the 6 months.

Single trip policies are sub-divided into short stay and long stay versions, short stay travel insurance policies have a maximum duration of around 3 or 4 months depending on the insurer and long stay policies have a maximum duration of 18 months usually, although this is often reduced based on age and destination. However, it is the norm that regardless of how long a duration you have paid for, if you return to your home country during the insured period then the policy ends, so if you are a UK resident, you can’t book a 3 week policy for a trip within Europe and spend a week in France, then return to the UK en-route to Ireland for 2 weeks, as the policy ends as soon as you set foot back in the UK, you would need two separate travel insurance policies, or travel directly to Ireland from France. Having said that, it is possible to purchase a long stay policy that has the option, at additional cost of course, to return to the UK twice during the insured period.

With single trip policies, both versions, the cancellation coverage within the policy, in most cases, comes into force on the date of purchase, however, there are some policies designed to cover pre-existing medical conditions where there is a delay of around a month before the cancellation cover becomes active.

Long stay policies themselves are sub-divided into two types, there are the ones aimed at gap year students, backpackers and other relatively young travellers with no commitments, and these have a maximum age limit of around 40 or 45 and are generally not intended for families, as there are no discounts for children and may be restricted to a maximum of traveller and partner. The level of cover tends to be on the lower end of the spectrum in order to keep the price down but it is not always the case.

Other long stay policies for older travellers or families are available, with a common age limit being 75, although it is possible to buy a policy for a stay of up to 6 months with no upper age limit.

Annual multi-trip travel insurance policies are intended to cover all trips you make within a 12 month period, beginning on the specified start date. There will be a limit, specified at the time of purchase, on the length of each trip you make, these can range from around 3 weeks up to around 100 days, although the limit will likely decrease as you get older. There may also be a limit on the number of days you can spend abroad during the policy period such as a maximum of 183 days, or in other words, 6 months.

Cancellation cover in an annual multi-trip travel insurance policy works differently than for single trip travel insurance policy in that the cover does not begin until the start date of the policy and only applies to trips starting within the 12 month period of cover.

Another aspect to consider when purchasing an annual multi-trip travel insurance policy is whether you can get continuous cover from one policy to the next, by this I mean, if you renew your annual travel insurance policy with a start date the day after the current policy ends, so that there is no break in cover, are you covered for a trip that spans the two policies such as one that starts a week before the current policy ends but does not finish until a week into the new policy period, another possible expectation is that cancellation cover would come into force immediately for a trip booked to take place wholly within the period of the new annual multi-trip policy if there is no break in cover. Both of these assumptions are not always correct, cheaper annual multi-trip policies may not offer continuous cover and in fact be standalone policies where only trips that start and finish within the policy period are covered. It is quite possible that the policy wording itself does not spell this out, so if in doubt ask the retailer if continuous cover is available.

If you travel regularly or are planning to take a relatively long short stay trip of say around 1 to 3 months, you may find that an annual multi-trip travel insurance policy is the most cost effective solution.

As well as the basic type of policy you will need to consider other aspects such as pre-existing medical conditions, whether you intend to participate in sport or other potentially hazardous activities during your trip, if you are pregnant will you be travelling relatively late in the term, I say relatively late but cover for complications of pregnancy can end at 24 weeks in some travel insurance policies, and few go beyond 28 weeks, but cover is possible up to 36 weeks of pregnancy in certain circumstances.

So when thinking about buying your travel insurance policy you will need to consider the following:

How often will I be travelling in the coming year?

What is the maximum length of any one trip?

If the trip extends beyond 3 months do I need the option to return home?

Do I have any special requirements, either medical or sporting pursuits?

If I opt for an annual multi-trip policy do I need the option of continuous cover?

If you have children, I would suggest you shop around as the rates charged for children on a family policy varies with the insurer and some don’t charge at all. Also the maximum age of dependent children allowed on a family policy differs between the insurers.

This is by no means a comprehensive guide to selecting your travel insurance policy, I have merely tried to supply you with some pointers on what to consider before parting with your hard earned cash.

Safe travels.

Are you the adventurous kind, making travel plans almost throughout the year? If your answer is -Yes then along with your trip, you should also plan your insurance. If you have not bought a travel insurance policy yet, consider doing it right now. Always remember to compare travel insurance rates, coverage and plans before you decide on an insurance company. Try and look out for the cheap travel insurance plans offered by various travel insurance companies. After all, a cheap travel insurance is always better than no travel coverage.

Thousands of students, business travelers and vacationers are traveling across the world, secured via cheap and affordable travel insurance Even the middle class family, that usually takes at least one vacation in a year, can afford cheap travel insurance. In all of these instances, standard cover won’t meet your needs and you should be considering a specialist travel policy. Cheap travel insurance in such cases is often regarded better than going in for a standard insurance policy and plan including additional coverage.

The insurance company makes sure that no matter how big your travel plans are, you will be in a position to save up as much as possible. Now, if you buy a cheap travel insurance plan, the benefits of extra insurance coverage will be limited . But you are, however, assured of the insurance coverage required to fulfill your future requirements.

Purchasing a cheap travel insurance plan, offered by any leading insurance company today, is a wise step to manage your finances. You just have to keep in mind that your baggage is insured, you and your family will arrive conveniently, and in case a crisis crops up, you don’t have to fall back on the fact of whether the insurance coverage of the travel company will cover you or not.

Cases of erroneous travel cover have been frequently heard of. The insured believes that he is safely insured with a travel insurance coverage, only to find out later from his travel insurance company, that he was not. To avoid such situations, you can compare and choose a cheap travel insurance policy and be safe.

Invest in a cheap travel insurance and enjoy a better travel experience. An affordable travel insurance plan is a smart decision that you must take, instead of going for an extra insurance coverage.

Get the best quotes of cheap travel insurance online. But it always does not imply that an affordable travel insurance plan will come with less coverage. Choosing the right travel insurance policy is a safeguard against the travel agents, who dupe into believing that travel insurance is inclusive of your travel plan.

I’m looking for good cheap travel insurance. I have a week before I leave for my holiday and I need to get a policy quick! I’m going to write about my experience trying to find a policy that will cover 2 adults for a 36 day trip. It’s a long holiday I know! If you ever have to look for insurance I hope that you can refer to this article and learn from my experience.

For every trip that I take I spend quite a bit of time organizing. I usually do a bit of pre-holiday shopping, get a haircut so I will look good on the beach and make a list of the items I need to pack. Before I start packing I get my travel insurance!

I am going overseas for an extended period of time and I’m hunting for comprehensive travel insurance package to keep me covered for any nasty eventualities on my trip. I like to start the process by writing down a few of the problems I am most worried about on my travel. This can vary on the type of trip that you are doing and the destination that you are going on.

If I was taking a ski holiday I might priorities cover for personal injury or damage to my ski equipment. This trip isn’t an action filled holiday, I might do a bit of snorkeling but my main concerns are:

1- Making sure I get to my destinations and home again in one piece (with all my luggage).

2- Cover for health/accident related problems that might occur.

3 -Having cover for any theft, loss or damage to my possessions while I’m away. Travelling for a month

means that I have a lot of luggage. I don’t want to worry about my precious laptop and camera!

Now that I have a few priorities I’m going to start my search.

Internet comparison websites really do make life a lot easier. I’ve carried out a couple of searches on Confused.com and MoneySuperMarket.com. The lowest prices for a travelling couple on a holiday longer than 30 days is about £40 pounds up to a maximum of £230 pounds for luxury travel insurance! I’m not going to consider the policies as I can see that the luggage cover values are too low.

Later I’ll need to check out the maximum single item cover limit for baggage as expensive single items such as laptops and camera might fall outside of some of these policies.

I’ve decided to use quotes from Confused.com only as I am pushed for time and they offer the largest comparison of insurers at the moment. If I had more time I would look at hitting up MoneySupermarket and others comparison sites as then I could get a larger comparison.

So here are my chosen runners -

TRAVEL INSURER Premium Medical Cancellation Baggage Excess

Travel Insurance Genie £57.20 £10 Mill £2K £1.5K £65

Travel Plan Online £57.50 £10 Mill £5K £1K £100

Swift Cover £62.19 £10 Mill £2K £2K £75

Direct Travel Insurance £72 £10 Mill £3K £1.5K £50

There is a £15 difference between the most expensive and least expensive policies. Looking at them closely it is going to be interesting to see what I can get for my money’s worth.

MEDICAL COVER

Medical cover for all the policies is pretty similar at £10 million. You might think that this is a lot of money but you have to keep in mind that it can be expensive paying for doctors and hospitals when abroad. Just as you don’t get to go to the Grand Canyon for free the US aren’t going to pay for your stay at the local hospital. Breaking your leg in other part so the Continent can be very expensive especially if you have to abandon your holiday and pay for alternative transport home.

CANCELLATIONS

UK weather has been pretty temperamental recently. I am not counting on a nice day for my departure so I’m keeping one eye on the forecast in case I have to set out a few hours early to make it to the airport. I haven’t noticed too many news items about flight cancellations but another bout of snow and ice could make trains and buses a trial. To be sure I want a decent amount of cover for cancellations.

Travel Plan Online has the largest provision for cancellations of the four with £5000. The first leg of our trip London to LA and I don’t think that a replacement flight would cost more that £2000. If you are planning on travelling business or first class you would need to have a higher cover amount for cancellations. For my purposes £2000 is just fine as my flights for the whole trip didn’t cost that much!

So looking at the competition so far the policies are level pegging, price aside.

BAGGAGE

It is difficult making a figure for the value of your suitcase contents…especially when I haven’t packed yet! Having written a list of what I will pack I think that if I lost all of my clothes, toiletries, camera, laptop and other gadgets I would be looking at over a £1000 to replace everything. The policies under investigation cover between £1000 and £2000 for baggage. So at the baggage hurdle Travel Plan Online has tripped up and fallen out of the race!

As Travel Plan Online didn’t provide a high enough value on baggage I am casting them aside. Interestingly enough Travel Plan Online had the highest excess £25 -£50 more than their competitors. If a customer have to make a claim for contents over £1000 the maximum pay out would amount to only £900!

Something to keep in mind for later is whether the survivors provide cover as new for old or 2nd hand value.

EXCESS

So the competition is down 3 insurers now with excesses ranging between £50 and £75. At this early stage I’m not swayed towards any one company so I’ll consider excess later in the piece if the running is close between contenders.

JUDGEMENT SO FAR

Here is my competition table after looking at the basic offers from comparison tables.

TRAVEL INSURER Premium Medical Cancellation Baggage Excess

Travel Insurance Genie £57.20 £10 Mill £2K £1.5K £65

Swift Cover £62.19 £10 Mill £2K £2K £75

Direct Travel Insurance £72 £10 Mill £3K £1.5K £50

I’ve considered price and checked if my basic requirements for travel insurance would be covered.

Travel Plan Online has been crossed out of the competition as in hindsight they would not be able to cover the whole value of my baggage.

If I had to pick a winner at this point it would be Travel Insurance Genie. Based on the bare facts their price is good, they offer a decent amount of medical cover, pretty good cancellation and baggage cover amounts too with a competitive excess at £65.

Next I want to do some research into the service and history of these companies and see if I can dig up any dirt on their performance! Stay tuned for more on my adventures shopping for travel insurance.

Two of the best known names in the travel insurance industry are CSA and HTH travel insurance. Both of these insurance companies have been around for a while insuring travelers. They both offer packages that will insure the investment that you have made in your travel package.

Keeping your Money Safe while Traveling

When you are spending money for travel, you will want to make sure that the money is safe by insuring the travel plans. The more you spend on the travel arrangements and the riskier the travel arrangements, the more money the travel insurance will cost you. Both CSA and HTH are travel insurance companies that weigh risk of the venture with the premium. Not everyone gets the same flat premium for their travel coverage when they are using these companies. Nor do they get the same coverage. Everything depends on the type of travel that you are doing and the type of coverage that you desire.

Comprehensive Travel Insurance with CSA and HTH Travel Insurance

CSA is a name that is known to most travel agents and is one of the most popular travel insurance companies that is used. Many travel agencies will try to get travelers to get insurance when they are going on a trip, just in case of a cancellation or inclement weather that can prevent their enjoyment. CSA is one of the companies that will protect travelers against poor weather when they are going on a trip where they expect the weather to be good. The amount for which they offer insurance depends on the type of insurance that someone is getting and the likelihood of something going wrong. CSA is a company that will weigh out the risks of the insurance and balance it with the cost of the insurance.

HTH is another travelers insurance that specializes in medical coverage for those who get sick when they are on vacation. HTH also takes into consideration the chances of the person getting sick as well as the general overall health of the person being insured. The country of their travel destination is also considered when it comes to policies offered by HTH travel insurance. Both HTH and CSA will give broad packages for travel insurance that cover just about everything that can go wrong with the trip for one price. The price that someone pays for such a premium on travel insurance depends on the odds of something going wrong.

Quick and Efficient Service with CSA and HTH Travel Insurance

When it comes to claims, CSA and HTH both handle them quickly and effectively. If you get travel insurance and need to make a claim, you will need to have proof of a loss. You will have to present the proof of the loss to the travel insurance claims adjuster so that you can get money back. Neither CSA or HTH will insure a traveler based upon their enjoyment of the trip. Losses that are incurred during a trip have to be concrete losses that can be proven on paper when you are making a travel insurance claim at either CSA or HTH travel insurance companies. No travel insurance company will pay out on a claim for lack of enjoyment – all losses must be substantiated.

If you have prior knowledge about your medical condition and need to travel abroad in spite of it, it becomes all the more important to get your medical condition insured. Since we all know that treatments abroad can prove to be very costly, it is suggested to take up travel insurance pre existing medical condition.

The pre-medical condition of a consumer means that he has been suffering from:

•Any respiratory condition; any heart, circulatory, kidney, liver or cerebral condition; any stroke or central nervous system disorder; for which he has ever received treatment.

•Any cancer for which he has received any diagnosis or treatment within the last five years.

•Any disease, illness or injury for which he has received surgery, in-patient treatment or investigations in a hospital or clinic within the last two years

While availing UK travel insurance pre existing medical condition, the consumer is suggested to divulge all the medical facts about his condition to the insurer. This is done so that in the future, the insurer cannot claim to cancel the policy on the basis of incomplete facts. Even if the consumer is on some medication for his condition, he should inform the insurer of travel insurance pre existing medical condition about it very clearly.

However to take up travel insurance pre existing medical condition, the consumer needs to be a citizen of the UK and should be registered with a medical practitioner. Only the medical conditions that have already been diagnosed by the practitioner can be covered with travel insurance pre existing medical condition.

It can be availed as a single-trip travel policy or as a multi-trip travel annual policy depending upon the frequency of travel of the consumer. This can be done through Annual Travel Insurance in UK. The duration of the policy or the cover limit can be increased if the consumer informs the insurer before the present policy expires.

With travel insurance pre existing medical condition, it is now safe to travel abroad without worrying about any expenses on the pre-existing medical situation of the borrower.
